The best thing about these products is how much cheaper Yeelight products are as compared to other smart lighting brands. But being cheap does not mean that their products are sub-standard, we assure you that you’ll be getting bang for the buck if you choose Yeelight smart devices for your home.
Recently a lot of users have mentioned trouble in getting their Yeelight to work with the Alexa server then here are some possible fixes that you can follow to troubleshoot this problem.
How to Fix Yeelight Alexa Server Is Unresponsive?
- Check Connection
To fix this issue you’ll have to make sure that your internet is working properly. We recommend that you power cycle your router and connect it again with your Yeelight. If doing that doesn’t fix the issue then you should try moving the router closer to the Yeelight device. This will improve the signal strength and you’ll be able to connect to the server quite easily.
2. Use Mobile Hotspot
Most often than not this issue is related to your home connection. If your internet is weak or there is something else wrong with your router then it is likely that you’ll run into this issue quite frequently. So, in this scenario, you should try disconnecting the Yeelight from your home network. After that open up your hotspot using your phone, configure your Yeelight with a mobile hotspot, and try connecting the smart device with the server.
- Switch Servers
Another possible fix that can help you sort out this issue is changing the server to another region and then switching back to your designated server. Doing this will force the device to reconnect properly with the server and also take care of any minor bugs that might have been affecting your connection with the server. To do this, simply launch your Yeelight app and click on the “more” option on the corner of your phone. From there you just have to tap on server settings and you’ll be able to browse through different servers that you can connect to.
Switch the server to another region. After that close the app and wait around 60 seconds. Once that is done, open up the app again and change the server region back to your designated location and that should take care of your particular issue.
- Reset the Device
If your problem is still not resolved then we recommend that you reset your smart device to factory settings. However, doing this will remove all the configurations you have done up to this point and all the user data will be wiped out. You’ll have to spend quite a bit of time configuring your device again with your home automation system. So, make sure to try other fixes first before resetting your Yeelight device.
On the off chance, if your issue remains then the only option left for you is to contact Yeelight support. They will ensure that you receive help from a trained professional that knows how to troubleshoot your particular issue.
