When it comes to providing security solutions to your smart house, then Wyze is one of the finest options that you can go for. Their wide range of products is all designed to help you have more control over how you can monitor the house even while being away.
Unfortunately, we have been receiving complaints from users regarding their Wyze devices. Talking about this, one common complaint that we have heard is that their Wyze contact sensor is not connecting. If you are also experiencing the same problem, then here is what you can do in order to get it fixed:
Fixing Wyze Contact Sensor Not Connecting
- Bridge Might Be Too Far Away
The first reason why you could be having your sensor act all up could be because of the bridge being too far away from your sensor. If that seems to be the case, then you will have to make sure that you move it closer to each other.
As the sensor has a specific range limit, it is much better if you put these devices next to each other just to test out if range is the reason why the sensor isn’t working.
- Battey Might Not Be Seated
It is also possible that the contact sensor may not have the battery seated inside it in the proper way. To check whether that is so, follow these instructions:
- Start with using the edge of the Reset Pin in order to remove the battery’s cover.
- Try removing the battery and putting it back in. Ensure that you are able to see the positive side (+) of it.
- Put the battery cover back inside.
Once you have successfully seated the batteries, we recommend giving your contact sensor another try.
- Power Cycling the Camera
Oftentimes, a bug can also lead to certain issues with your camera device. However, if that is so, then the only thing that you will need to do is to make your camera go through a power cycle. Simply unplug your camera from any power source and wait for a few seconds.
Ideally, we recommend plugging the power source back in right after 10-20 seconds have passed. This should give the camera enough time to be able to cycle through.
- Go Through the Setup Again
There’s also the chance that you might have messed things up during the setup phase of the camera. In that case, you should try going through the whole setup process again. To ensure that you don’t miss out on anything, we recommend completely resetting the whole device, which should wipe out all the previously stored settings.
After resetting the device, you should be prompted to go through the setup process again. One thing to keep in mind is that you should keep the device close to your bridge while setting it up. As soon as you are done with the process, you can properly test it out in your desired location before mounting it.
- Faulty Device
If you still haven’t had any luck in resolving the problem, then it could be that you have a faulty device. Unfortunately, there isn’t anything that you can do about a faulty device and even getting it repaired might not be ideal in most cases.
Instead, you will have to opt for a completely new contact sensor. Alternatively, if your device is still under warranty, you can contact your dealer and get a working unit without having to pay for anything. Similarly, you can also try contacting the support team for additional help on the matter.
The Bottom Line:
It can be quite annoying to have your Wyze contact sensor not connecting all of a sudden. Though there can be multiple reasons why this can happen, you should be able to get it fixed by troubleshooting the issue. In order to learn exactly how you are supposed to troubleshoot, we strongly advise giving the whole article a thorough read. Doing so should result in a quick and easy fix.
