Even though RainPoint is a really reliable brand, there can still be occasions when you will notice the device start acting up all of a sudden. As issues are quite common to occur in smart devices, you should have troubleshooting knowledge in order to fix such issues.
As a result, we will be listing down some of the most common problems with the RainPoint devices and how you can fix them for good. So, let’s not waste any more time, and get right into how you can get rid of these problems!
Troubleshooting RainPoint Devices:
- Leaking Timer Inlet
The first common issue that we have found users experience is with the timer inlet starting to leak. If you seem to be facing the same thing, here’s what you can do:
- Start with pushing the pipes towards the end of the outlet or inlet, ensuring there isn’t any gap.
- Make sure that you have installed the filter correctly at its place.
- Try tightening the water inlet to your tap.
- Ensure that the threads of your water inlet match those that you have on the tap.
- Now, install your timer in the vertical direction which should help avoid damage from the body inside.
If you were to install the timer even at a horizontal angle, it can end up causing physical damage to the internal valve which is why we definitely recommend not doing this.
- Connection Issues
Another really common problem that you can encounter on pretty much every device is with the connection. Likewise, if you notice these connection problems, here are some of the things that you can try:
- Firstly, try removing your hub which should make sure it’s turned off.
- Now, try holding down the middle button and inserting it inside the socket without having to release the middle button.
- Once a couple of seconds have passed, you should see an indicator light up after which it begins to flash.
- Finally, release the middle button and start following the instructions that appear.
Apart from this, you should also make sure that you are using a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection which can be configured through your router’s settings. You can also try making your hub go through a quick power cycle to see if that helps.
- Water Statistics Are Incorrect
Some users have also come up with complaints about the water statistics being incorrect. If you have found yourself under the same threat, then trying these things out should help:
- Ensure that you don’t have a low water pressure or an unstable output of water from your tap. These may result in your readings getting incorrect giving a + or -5% error.
- You have to make sure that you install your irrigation timer perpendicularly to the floor. If you have installed the valve at any particular angle, it will continue to give you incorrect statistics.
If you are still getting incorrect readings, you should definitely get the device checked.
- Issues With Sharing Devices With Family
In case you can’t seem to share your devices with family members, then follow these steps:
- Whenever you are sharing devices with your family members, the first thing you should do is create a separate home. Under ME > Family Management > Add family, you should have the option of creating a new family.
- Keep in mind that family members have permission to set and control devices only if they are given administrator rights. Under the Add Family option, you can change this by going to “Family Role” and setting them as administrator.
