Like all the major smart appliances producers out there, you get to enjoy the dedicated app from LIFX as well that allows you a complete range of control over all the devices that you have from LIFX including speakers, smart lights and more.
The application ensures that the appliances are perfectly optimized with your smartphone device and enables a seamless connectivity experience that is unmatched and you cannot get that from any other application that might be compatible, but since the developers are from same organization, the collaboration is flawless.
The app is pretty stable, and doesn’t have any sort of errors or bugs on it, but you can never be so certain about technology. If your LIFX app is not working for some reason, here is how you can fix it.
LIFX App Not Working
1) Restart your app and phone
The first thing that you need to try is a simple restart. LIFX app is pretty stable and doesn’t get affected by bugs usually, so a restart will do the trick for you. You need to force quit the application and then restart your phone completely. Once your phone is powered on again, you can try accessing the application and it will work without any issues at all.
2) Reset your account
If you are still not able to make it work you will need to reset your account on the application as that might be causing you to have some sort of problems with the app not working.
It is pretty simple, you can either delete all the data of your application from the application settings or logout of your account and log it back in using the same credentials. This will be enough to make it work for you and you will have your LIFX application working for you again without causing you any sort of troubles at all.
3) Update the firmware
If you have a pending firmware update on your phone, or don’t have enough memory for the application to operate properly, that can be another issue that can cause your LIFX application to stop working.
So, in such cases, you will need to have the right space cleared up so that the application could work without having any issues. Also, you will need to update the firmware if you have a pending update on your phone and that will solve out the issue most of the time.
4) Reinstall the application
The last thing that you will need to do if nothing has worked out for you so far is to reinstall the application. You will have to clear all the data first so you can ensure that no settings are remain behind that can cause you any sort of inconvenience later.
Then, uninstall the application and download the latest version from relevant app store. You will not only be downloading the latest version, but it will also fix any issues that might cause you to have these issues and that way you will be able to make it work without any problems again.
Same problem, works on an andriod phone, but not when logged in with the same account on an iphone
Same problem here. App doesn’t see the lights.
My Lifx lights are connected to the wifi and turned on but the app says they are offline. I have checked on the Sky broadband hub page and confirmed that they are connected. I have reinstalled the Lifx app. I have restarted the hub. I have disconnected and reconnected the lights. I have restarted my phone. No luck. Any ideas?
LIFX lights not being recognised through LIFX app – even though they are being recognised through the AppleHome app.
