- Other Issues
Sometimes it takes multiple attempts to successfully pair your security camera with your LaView Monitoring Station.
If you find that after multiple attempts your camera is still not connected, there are a few things you can do:
- Make sure your LaView Monitoring Station has an Internet connection by checking for an orange LED light on your box.
- Reset both devices (unplug them for at least 15 seconds, then plug them back in).
- Remove any conflicting Wi-Fi networks from either of the two devices. For example, if you’re trying to connect your security camera to a 2.4 GHz network but have another 2.4 GHz device nearby (like another router), try switching to a 5 GHz network instead or moving one of those devices away from each other.
- Try connecting via Ethernet cable if possible—this will bypass any interference caused by other wireless signals or appliances in your home.
Camera will not turn on. It’s plugged in. I pressed and held the reset button for 5,10,15 seconds. How do I fix this?
Camera stating there is a human detected but there is no human. That happens often. It also does not follow anything at night. Just stays in one direction.
Under the Alarm messages, when I get a Motion or Sound Detection, there is a View option beside each occurrence. However, when I click on it, it doesn’t play the event. It takes me to the live feed. So in order to see the event, I have to go to Playback and scroll and scroll to the time of the event. This is so frustrating since I have another brand of camera that takes me directly to the event. ALSO, anytime I select Playback, which most of the time is to just rewind a little bit, it takes me all the way back to midnight! This means I have to scroll and scroll to get to my current timeframe where I only want to go back a few minutes. Again, when hitting the playback of the other brand, it takes you to the time of your current viewing. So frustrating – the scrolling and scrolling. Same goes for if you go to another date, again it takes you to midnight. The other brand takes you to the current time of the day you select instead of all the way back to midnight. If they would fix this issue, I’d be pretty happy with them. Well, if they fixed the sound quality, too.
