The iRobot Braava Jet is a battery-powered, spray-and-mop device that cleans hard floors. It is designed to cleanse your floors by spraying water and detergent on the floor surface and then scrubbing it with a spinning brush. The Braava Jet® can also be used as a dry mop for dusting your hard floors. It is lightweight and easy to use, with a water tank that holds enough water for 20 minutes of cleaning time and a detergent tank that can hold enough detergent for up to 10 minutes. However, the spraying action is sometimes blocked, and the water stops coming out. This is due to several reasons, such as a clogged spray nozzle, a dirty water filter, or low battery power. In this article, we’ll go over these issues in detail and help you fix them.
If your iRobot Braava Jet® is not spraying, there are a few things you can do to troubleshoot and fix the issue.
A few common problems faced by the iRobot Braava Jet® include
- The water tank may be empty. Be sure to check the water level and refill if necessary.
- There may be something blocking the spray nozzle. Check the nozzle for any debris or blockages and clean it as needed.
- Water Spraying Inconsistently
- Water Not Coming Out In A Fine Mist
- Clean Pads, not Damp
- Water Tank not Full
- Nozzle Too Narrow
- The iRobot Braava Jet® may need to be reset. To reset, simply remove the water tank and put it back on.
Here’s how you can fix most of the issues faced by iRobot Braava Jet.
Fixing iRobot Braava Jet Not Spraying
- No Water Coming Out
If there is no water coming out of the Braava when you press the spray button, ensure that the tank is seated properly and that the red float isn’t stuck. If the float is stuck, clean it with a paperclip or toothpick. Another way to fix the float includes placing the tank under running water for a few seconds.
- Water Spraying Inconsistently
If the water is spraying inconsistently, check to see if the yellow tip on the cover of the water tank is clogged. If it is, clean it with a paperclip or toothpick. You can also try running the tank under warm water for a few seconds.
- Clean The Nozzle
If the Braava is still not spraying properly, it’s time to clean the nozzle:
- Remove the water tank and unscrew the nozzle cap.
- Use a paperclip or toothpick to remove debris from the nozzle.
- Screw the nozzle cap back on and replace the water tank.
- Replace A Damaged Nozzle
If the nozzle is damaged, it will need to be replaced. You can purchase a replacement nozzle from iRobot’s website or a retailer selling iRobot products. A replacement will cost you around $15.
- Water Not Coming Out In A Fine Mist
If the water is not coming out in a fine mist, check the yellow tip on the cover of the water, and check the yellow tip on the cover of the water tank. As we mentioned above, If it is clogged, clean it with a paperclip or toothpick. Another way to fix the issue is to run the tank under warm water for a few seconds.
- Clean Pads Must be Damp
When you see the green light, the pads are still too wet and need more time to dry. Once the red light comes on, the pads are dry and ready for use.
- Water Tank Should Be Full
The water tank should be full, and the reservoir should be seated properly on the Braava. If the red float is stuck, clean it with a paperclip or toothpick.
- Dirty Water Tank
If the water tank is dirty, it can cause the Braava to spray inconsistently. Clean the tank with warm water and soap. Use a mixture of vinegar and water to clean the tank. Be sure to use vinegar and water to clean the tank and rinse the water tank thoroughly before using it again.
- Narrow Spray Nozzle
If you’re having trouble getting the Braava to spray in a wide area, try using the narrow spray nozzle. The narrow nozzle is great for spraying in tight spaces.
