Insteon Hub is the device that you get along with the Insteon smart lighting system to control all the lights and other appliances from Insteon at your place. The hub is pretty great as it enables faster communication through all channels and devices across the network and you get to enjoy a seamless connecting experience with your smart lighting.
The Hub is durable and you won’t have to experience any sort of issues with the hub optimally. However, there are some inevitable issues if you are not handling the tech gadgets in right manner such as Hub not turning on. So, if you are unable to get any signals on your hub and it is not turning on, you will need to try these out to ensure that you are getting it to work.
Insteon Hub Not Turning On
1) Check the Power Outlet
The main reason that can cause this issue to occur is the power outlet that might not be supplying the right current for your Hub to work and as a result your hub will cease to work. To have this issue fixed, you need to check if the plug is fit properly and not hanging loose. You will also need to check if the switch is not turned off, and it would be better if you get the Hub to plug in with some outlet that is not controlled by any switch at all.
Another thing that you can do is try plugging in some other appliance in the same power outlet and check if the outlet is working fine. If not, you will need to have your outlet checked and replaced if it is causing some problem.
2) Check the power chord
Another thing that can cause you to have this problem is the power chord that connects the power outlet to your Hub and that needs to be checked if you are having some sort of issues with the hub not getting any power at all.
If you have a spare cable handy, you can try plugging that cable in the same port and see if it would work. Most of the times, you can solve your problems through this and you will not get to face any sort of issues with your Hub not powering on afterwards.
Another factor can be your chord might get loose and not plugged in properly. So, all you need to do is plug it in tightly and that is going to work for you without causing you to have any sort of issues that might not get the power to your Hub.
3) Reset the Hub
Another step to have this issue fixed is to reset your Insteon Hub to default settings and that will wipe out any errors that might be causing you to face such issues. The drill is pretty simple to have the Insteon Hub reset, and you just need to pull out all the wires attached to the hub including Ethernet cable and the power chord. Let it sit for a minute and then plug it back in. Your hub will be reset and will not get any issues again.
