A smart furnace is a device that is used to help users be able to control the temperature of their houses. Ecobee is famous among users because of its smart thermostat. All of the latest smart features are integrated into their smart thermostat. Apart from being able to remotely control the device, you can also use the touch screen on the device.
Unfortunately, we have received reports from users saying that they are facing issues with their Ecobee thermostats. One of the most common issues faced by the users is that their Ecobee thermostat is not turning on the heat.
How To Fix Ecobee Not Turning On Heat?
In today’s article; we will be listing a few ways on how we can fix Ecobee not turning on the heat. All of them will help you successfully troubleshoot and fix your issue. So, without wasting any time further, let’s get started!
- Your Thermostat May Not Be Calling for Heat
You can use the app to check the status of your Thermostat. If there is a flame icon with an orange outline, then that means your thermostat is calling for heat. If you see any other thing, such as a white flame icon, then the thermostat is not calling for heat.
The reason why your thermostat may not be calling for heat is because of heat differential temperature. If your indoor temperature has not dropped lower than your heat differential temperature, then your Ecobee will not call for heat. What you can do is adjust your heat differential threshold from the threshold settings in your app.
- Change Your Fan Control
During the time you are setting up your thermostat device, you will have the option to adjust fan control. The default settings will adjust your fan for energy efficiency. We have seen cases where the fan control needs to be changed as their Ecobee is not able to tell the furnace to turn on the heat.
In this case, you will have to switch the fan control to your furnace. This should help let you turn on the heat.
- Contact Support
There may be something wrong with your device. A blown fuse or poor wiring may also be the reason why heat is not turning on. If that is so, you will need to check everything manually.
Just in case, we suggest you contact customer support as well. The support team should help you troubleshoot and figure out the issue. Just be sure to mention all of the things that you have already tried.
The Bottom Line
These are the 3 ways on how you can fix Ecobee not turning on the heat. We suggest you carefully follow all of the instructions that we have mentioned above. Doing so will help you resolve the issue.
