For those of you who find cleaning your house to be something tedious, Deebot offers a great solution by providing smart vacuum cleaners. These small devices can be left on the floor in order to clean all the floors of your house.
Though there can be times when these devices suddenly start to act up. When that happens, you will need to know how you can perform basic troubleshooting. Today, we will be exploring a particular issue being faced with the Deebot 900 where the device is not charging at all. So, if you are also facing the same issue then keep on reading!
Fixing Deebot 900 Not Charging
- Poor Connection
The first reason why you could have your device not charging could be because of a fault with your connection. More specifically, it is possible that there is a poor connection between the device’s port and the charger itself.
If that is the case, then you will have to check both the charging contacts and try cleaning them. Do make sure that you clean both the robot’s charging pin and the charging dock’s pin. Once you are done, ensure that you properly connect these charging contacts with each other.
- Turn On Your Deebot
Another thing that most users seem to forget is that in order for the device to fully charge, it should be kept turned on at all times. When the device is turned off, it may not charge at all even if you have connected it to a charging dock.
In such cases, it is important that you turn the device on. As soon as you turn it on, re-attempt to make the charging connection as it should start to charge just fine now.
- Reactivating the Battery
In case your battery has completely discharged, you may need to reactivate the device’s battery before it can start charging. To do this, you will first have to turn on your Deebot. After it boots up, try placing the robot on the charging dock manually.
Keep it on the charging dock for around 3 minutes before taking it off. Now, repeat this process 3 more times. This should reactivate your battery. Once you are done, you can start charging the device in the normal way again.
- Checking the Charging Dock
There’s also the possibility that you could be dealing with a faulty charging dock. If that seems to be the case, then we’re afraid that there isn’t much of what you can do apart from getting a new charging dock.
Though before you decide on getting one, you can still try checking the charging dock for anything that might be out of order. Alternatively, you can also call in a technician and have it checked. If possible, you may be able to get it repaired even if it isn’t recommended.
- Faulty Battery
If your device is still struggling to maintain any charge, then there’s a good chance that you might be dealing with a faulty battery. If that is the case, then you will have to look for a new battery.
Over time, a battery can go bad after which the only solution might be to fully replace it. However, you can prolong a battery’s life by taking good care of it.
- Contacting Support
The last thing that you can do is to get in touch with ECOVAC’s support line. They should be able to tell what could be the cause for your device not charging. Make sure that you let them know about the things that you have already tried including reactivating the battery.
The Bottom Line:
Annoyed with your Deebot 900 not charging at all? Luckily, you should be able to fix the problem with quite ease especially if your battery is simply discharged. But, if you are facing a more technical issue, then chances are that you might have to opt for a complete replacement of a part, which will cost you quite a few dollars.
