Lepro smart light bulbs are designed for smart homes as they can be controlled by connecting to Wi-Fi, or you can use voice commands to adjust the settings.
These are LED bulbs that can be connected to the Lepro LampUX smartphone app – it allows the users to turn off/on the bulb, adjust the brightness, and create a schedule.
The bulbs are available in warm as well as bright forms. In addition, they are dimmable, so you can control the light’s intensity.
Common Lepro Smart Light Bulbs Problems Troubleshooting
Lepro also allows the users to set up the scene modes and timers. The best thing about Lepro smart bulbs is that they are convenient to set up.
So, if you want to get this bulb for your place, we are sharing common Lepro smart light bulbs problems troubleshooting – it helps fix minor errors easily!
- Not Responding To Voice Commands
Voice commands are a convenient way of controlling the bulb. The voice assistants like Google Home and Amazon Alexa can be connected to the smart bulb for easier control.
However, if the bulbs aren’t responding well to the voice commands, there are multiple solutions that you have to try, including;
Microphone
The first step is to check the microphone of the voice assistant because a broken microphone won’t be able to catch the audio signals, hence the response issue.
We recommend that you put the voice assistant close to your mouth and command something. If putting it close doesn’t work either, it’s likely that the microphone is damaged.
Ideally, you should hire an electrician to get the microphone’s continuity checked. In case of negative continuity, the microphone should be replaced.
Network Connection
If the microphone has continuity, it indicates that something is wrong with the internet connectivity. The internet connection is important for connecting the smart bulb to the voice assistant.
It’s recommended that you check the network connectivity to make sure the bulb and voice assistant is connected to the same internet connection.
Once the bulb is connected to the same internet connection as the voice assistant, the signals will be streamlined, and the voice commands will go through.
Reset
In case checking and changing the network connection doesn’t work, you should reset the bulb to eliminate the configuration errors – these errors will prevent the bulb from accepting the voice commands.
To reset the smart bulb, you have to disconnect it from the power source and wait for five minutes.
Then, connect it to the power and wait for a few minutes to make sure the bulb connects to the network.
Update
If resetting the smart bulb doesn’t resolve the voice command issue either, the only option is to look for software updates and install them.
For this purpose, you’ve to open the Lepro LampUX smartphone app and download the update from the settings.
You can also check the update-related instructions from the bulb’s manual.
- Unable To Connect To The Internet
Lepro bulb is a smart addition to every home, and it can be connected to the internet for easier control and adjustment. However, if the bulb is not connecting to the internet, we are sharing the solutions;
Internet Connection
First of all, if the internet is not working, the bulb won’t be able to connect to the internet – it helps control the bulb’s brightness, timer, and more.
For this reason, we recommend that you check the internet speed with an online speed check.
If the internet speed is slower than the advertised internet speed, you should contact the internet provider.
Reboot
Rebooting the internet router can help fix the majority of internet issues. If the internet isn’t working, you should turn off the router for five to ten minutes (take out all the cords).
After the mentioned time, turn on the router and make sure you plug the power cords firmly to make sure the internet connection is optimized.
Internet Speed
In case rebooting the router and reconnecting it to the bulb doesn’t resolve the connectivity issue, it’s likely that the internet speed is too slow.
Keep in mind that the internet speed should be a minimum of 10Mbps if you want to control the bulb with the internet.
If your internet speed has slower speed, you should contact the internet provider to upgrade the internet plan – you might have to pay more for more speed, but it will fix the connectivity errors.
Reset
If the bulb is still not connecting to the internet, it is recommended that you reset the Lepro bulb. For this purpose, you should disconnect the bulb for a few minutes and reconnect it.
Resetting the bulb will help fix the configuration errors that might be causing the connectivity errors.
Router Settings
Last but not least, you should check the router settings to make sure the router allows an internet connection to the bulb.
You should use your account credentials to access the router’s dashboards and open the settings. You’ve to check the connectivity permissions from the connections tab and make sure the bulb is allowed.
If none of these solutions work, it is likely a hardware error with the bulb, and you should contact the Lepro customer support team.
- Randomly Turns On & Off
If you have connected the Lepro smart light bulbs to the power source, but they keep turning on and off randomly, it can be frustrating.
The first solution is to check the internet connection because the smart light depends on the internet connection to work.
Keep in mind that the Wi-Fi connection should be stable, and the speed must be high.
In most cases, rebooting the internet router can help optimize the wireless internet signals to make sure the internet connection is stable.
On the other hand, if the internet connection is working fine, there are chances of wireless interference. The smart bulb depends on wireless signals, so check the connection.
Make sure that no wireless devices are connected near the Lepro smart light bulb. That’s because if the electronics are too close to each other, the wireless signals will be interrupted, hence the issue.
For instance, electronic appliances like speakers, cordless phones, and microwaves interfere with the connection.
- Not Working According To Schedules
Lepro smart bulbs are pretty reliable and can be scheduled to turn on or off, depending on your availability in the house. The users can set the schedule with the Lepro LampUX smartphone app.
However, if the smart bulb is not turning on or off according to the schedule, you have to ensure that the internet connection is working fine.
First of all, you’ve to ensure that the light bulb is connected to a working and compatible internet router. You can check the list of compatible routers from the instruction manual.
On the other hand, if you are already using a compatible router, you should ensure that the router is placed closer to the bulb – it helps fix the disturbances in the internet connection.
Secondly, you have to check the router settings because the encryption type and SSID in the router’s settings must be the same as Lepro smart bulb.
Another solution is to check the scheduling feature from the Lepro LampUX smartphone app.
You have to make sure that the schedule feature is enabled and set up properly. Also, don’t forget to double-check the date and time.
Last but not least, you have to check the firmware update. That’s because using outdated software can create performance issues. For this reason, you should open the Lepro LampUX app and upgrade the firmware.
- Unable To Dim The Bulb
Lepro smart light bulbs can be dimmed with the help of a smartphone app or a dimmer switch. However, if you are unable to dim the light, you should check the dimmer switch.
This is because Lepro smart bulb can be connected to a specific dimmer switch, and using an incompatible dimmer switch can adversely impact the control over brightness.
For this reason, we recommend that you check the dimmer switch to make sure it’s working properly – it’s better to check the continuity.
On the other hand, if the dimmer switch is working properly, it’s likely that the wattage is lower – you should connect the bulb to a different fixture (it must have 220V wattage).
In case both the dimmer switch and wattage are correct, but you still cannot dim the bulb, it’s likely that the home’s wiring is damaged. In most cases, old wiring prevents the bulb from working properly.
If that’s the case, you must contact the electrician, as he can help check the wattage as well as the wiring. The old wiring must be replaced immediately.
- Buzzing Noise
If the bulb is making buzzing noises, it’s usually caused by unstable voltage because it produces resistance and creates the buzzing noise.
So, check the voltage on the power board and make sure the voltage isn’t less than 220V. If there is a voltage issue, you should contact your electricity provider.
On the contrary, if the voltage is fine, another solution is to replace the dimmer switch because you might be using an incompatible switch!
