A few common reasons why the BISSELL CrossWave stops charging include:
-The power cord is not plugged in securely.
-There is a problem with the outlet.
-The battery needs to be replaced.
-The vacuum is too clogged up.
If your BISSELL CrossWave stops charging, try these troubleshooting steps to get it working again.
BISSELL CrossWave Not Charging Fix:
- Plug Power Cord Securely
If your BISSELL CrossWave has stopped charging, you should check the power cord first. Securely plug into both the machine and the outlet. If it is not, unplug it and plug it back in again. Once done, check to see if the machine will start charging. If it does not, there may be a problem with the outlet. To check this, plug another appliance into the outlet to see if it is receiving power. If it is not, there may be an issue with the circuit breaker or fuse box. You should check the battery next if the outlet appears to work properly. If the battery is old, you will have to replace it.
- Charge for a Minimum 4 Hours
Let it charge for a minimum of 4 hours to ensure the battery is fully charged. The charging time is usually between 4-5 hours. Leave the vacuum on a charge, and don’t turn the charging off until the green light is visible. While the vacuum is charging, try not to operate it.
- Unplug the Vacuum
If everything looks fine, try resetting the vacuum by unplugging it and then plugging it back in. If unplugging the vacuum doesn’t work, you may need to replace the battery.
- Restart Vaccum:
If your BISSELL CrossWave still isn’t charging, try restarting the vacuum. To do this, switch off the vacuum, then unplug it. Next, plug it back and switch it on again.
- Check Battery:
If the power cord and outlet are both working and the vacuum is plugged in securely, but the BISSELL CrossWave still isn’t charging, you may need to replace the battery.
- Replace Battery:
If you’ve tried all of the above troubleshooting steps and your BISSELL CrossWave still isn’t charging, you may need to replace the battery. To do this:
- Unplug the vacuum and remove the battery cover.
- Remove the old battery and insert a new one.
- Replace the battery cover and plug in the vacuum. You can find replacement batteries online or at your local hardware store.
A battery replacement will cost you around $30, which is a reasonable purchase.
- Unclog the Vacuum:
If the Vacuum is too clogged up, it interferes with the normal functioning of the machine. Consider unclogging it by removing and cleaning all the parts, especially the brush roll. To properly unclog the vacuum, follow the following steps:
- Turn off the Vacuum
To turn off the vacuum, follow the following steps:
- Unplug the power cord from the outlet.
- Remove the dirt bin by pressing the release button and lifting it off the vacuum.
- Press the brush roll release button to remove the brush roll.
- Compressed air blows out that is caught in the brush roll’s bristles.

-Clean the vacuum regularly to prevent it from becoming clogged.
-Replace the battery every 1-2 years to ensure optimal performance. The average battery life is around two years.

-Avoid leaving the vacuum plugged in for an extended period when not in use. Extensive charging can damage the vacuum.
-Store the vacuum in a cool, dry place because heat and humidity can damage the battery.

-Ensure the power cord is plugged into the charging base properly; otherwise, a loose connection can cause charging issues.

I am on my 2nd Crosswave pet pro X7 in 6 months and it’s already proving to not be worth the purchase. My 1st one, the fan needed replaced after only 4 mths of use. They sent me a new one due to being under warranty. I have been using my 2nd one for about 2 months and it keeps having charging issues. At first I thought it was because the connections weren’t clean and making proper contact, I cleaned them and that worked for about a week. After using for about 10 minutes today, it died. I replaced it on the charger and it is only charging to the first bar. 🤷♀️
I had a Crosswave that plugged in before and it lasted me 8 years. I loved it! These wireless ones don’t seem to be up to par and aren’t worth the money!
We just bought this our Crosswave. Used it once. Put on charger. Next day tried to use it and it was not charged. If it needs a new battery, the company should send one to me with no cost to me.
My crosswave worn’t charge and I’ve only used it less than 6 times. And I always unplug it when ever it’s not in use. What is wrong with it? It was to expensive not to be any more use than this!!!
