Ambient Weather units are pretty easy to manage as long as you’ve installed the sensors correctly and there is nothing wrong with the placement of the console relative to the sensors. It is not a bad option to seek help from a general contractor if you’re unsure about the installation of this unit.
Otherwise, it is pretty common to run into complications with the Ambient Weather unit not showing the correct temperature. A ton of reasons can lead to this outcome where the unit won’t respond to the sensor changes, and the following list of troubleshooting methods should help you fix your unit.
Ambient Weather Not Showing Correct Temperature
- Use Fresh Batteries
The leading reason behind Ambient Weather not showing the correct temperature can be linked with the insufficient power supply to the sensors. This is pretty common, and most of the time, owners forget about replacing the batteries in their units. So, you just have to remove the solar collector and then get rid of the older batteries. At this stage, you can install new batteries and then allow the sensors to connect with the main console.
- Check Range Between Console & Sensors
The range between sensors and your main console does play a curtail role where you won’t be able to secure any response from the system. So, if the sensors are more than forty feet away from the main console, just reduce the distance between these smart units and then check the response from the console.
Make sure that there aren’t too many metal barriers or interference from wireless accessories as you’re trying to judge the response from the main console. Hopefully, you’ll be able to fix the temperature by simply limiting the distance between the console and the sensor array.
- Change Location Of Your Sensors
Sometimes, the placement of the sensors is the main reason why you can’t get the correct temperature on the main Ambient Weather console. It is not that rare for anglers to put the Ambient Weather sensor array close to a heat source. So, the heat from the source impacts the temperature detection by the sensors.
For this reason, you need to follow the installation instructions carefully and then install them in a spot that is not too affected by any temperature control units. That way, you’ll be able to secure a consistent reading that will be completely accurate.
- Check Console Channel
At this point, you should also check the channel configurations on your console, as users often set the console to the wrong channel and get confused when the response from the sensors is not consistent. So, you need to make sure that the console is not the right channel and it is not set to channel 2 when you’re trying to connect with the sensor array. The customer support professionals can also help guide you through the channel configurations if you’re confused about the manual instructions.
- Resync Console
Sometimes, the fix is as simple as turning off the console for a few moments along with the sensors and allowing both devices to resync by turning them on after a few minutes. Allow the units to connect and wait for around 20 minutes before you mess with the configurations. Hopefully, by this time, you’ll be able to get an accurate temperature reading and won’t have to go through the trouble of resetting everything to factory default.
Ideally, the issue should be fixed after you resync the console if the sensor array is not damaged. So, if you’re sure that the sensor array is in good shape and the operating conditions are not too rough, then you can simply resync the console and then check the response from the main unit.
- Get Sensor Array Replaced
On the other hand, if the issue is not fixed at this point, then you’re likely dealing with a defective sensor array that is not responding correctly to temperature changes. The good thing is that you can claim the warranty by contacting customer support if the unit is less than 12 months old. So, make sure to reach out to the customers and demand a replacement from the official support. They will help you source a new array without any complications.
