There is no doubt that TP-Link is one of the most popular brands for providing routers. They have a wide range of options to choose from. They provide routers featuring multiple ranges, different Wi-Fi speeds, and different Wi-Fi standards. TP-Link also offers special routers that are ideal for a specific use, such as Gaming, or Travelling, etc.

Unfortunately, some users have reported that their TP-Link router keeps disconnecting from the internet. Due to this issue, they frequently get unable to access the internet. This can be quite frustrating for the users. Luckily, there are some things that you can try to troubleshoot.

How To Fix TP-Link Router Keeps Disconnecting From Internet?

In this article, we will be explaining what you can do in order to fix the frequent disconnection of your TP-Link router. We will be mentioning a list of ways that should help you to successfully troubleshoot this error. So, let’s get started!

  1. Reboot The Entire System

The first thing we suggest you to try is to reboot the entire system. This does not mean simply restarting the router. First, turn off the router. Then, take off all the cables from the router, including the Ethernet cable.

Make sure the router stays like this for 2-5 minutes. Finally, reconnect every cable on the router, and then restart the router. If you have a separate modem and router, you may want to perform the procedure on both these devices.

  1. Upgrade Your Router’s Firmware

If you are sure it is the router that is causing the issue, then the next thing to try is to upgrade your router’s firmware. Once you have done that, also try changing the DHCP of the router to other numbers. This is particularly helpful when you have multiple routers connected to the main router.

If this really is the case, then the issue might be caused due to the same DHCP of routers conflicting with each other. However, if you only have a single router setup, skip this step.

  1. Contact ISP

The last thing you may want to do is to contact your ISP. Ensure that there is nothing wrong with your internet connection. A common reason for frequent disconnection is the poor internet line in your area. After you have made sure your internet is completely fine, try contacting the manufacturer of your router. This should help you narrow down the reason for your issue and help you fix it for good.

The Bottom Line

These are the 3 ways on how you can fix the TP-Link router that keeps disconnecting from the internet. Ensure that you follow everything that we have mentioned above. By the end of the article, you should have successfully resolved your issue.

  1. I am trying to connect a KASA tp-link HS100. When I plug it into themains socket the WI-FI indicator flashes green and orange as expected. I have 7 smart plugs, all connected to lamps. When I use the KASA app it lists 4 devises that are working (in normal type) and some that are no( feint type). When I tap the switch symbol for a device in normal tpe the lamp comes on. If I tap a feint switch symbol I get the message – Device unreachable-your device maybe powered off or out of network range
