Sonos One has a premium design and is one of the best smart speakers that you can buy. There are hundreds of different features that you can use. You can connect them with your smart assistants like Google Home and Alexa. The only downside to these speakers is that they’re pricey and will leave a dent in your budget. Overall, they’re great and you should buy them if your budget allows you.
However, if you’re not able to get your Amazon Alexa to work with the Sonos One smart speaker, then here are a few solutions that might help you sort out this issue.
How to Fix Sonos One Alexa Not Working?
- Re-Link Skill
The majority of times this issue is because of a minor bug in the application. Luckily, you can easily sort out this issue by just removing the Sonos Skill from your Alexa app and then adding it again. It won’t take you much time and your issue will likely be fixed within a few minutes.
To do so, you just need to open up your Alexa application on your mobile phone and navigate to Skill settings. From there remove Sonos from the list of installed skills on your Alexa. Once that is done you should close the application and launch it again. Then type Sonos on the skills tab and click enable to add the skill again. Link your speakers and there is a good chance that they will start working without any further issues.
- Power Cycle Sonos
If re-linking the skill to the Alexa app does not fix the issue for you then there is a good chance that the issue is with the Sonos Speakers themselves. In this situation, you should try power cycling the smart speakers to fix the issue. All you need to do is unplug the smart speakers and then wait a few seconds before plugging them back in. Once the speakers are back online you can try using Alexa to check if that fixed your problem.
- Update Firmware
Another possible fix for this issue is that you can try updating the firmware of your Sonos smart speakers. To do so, you have to launch the app on your phone and go into app settings. From there navigate to the system option and tap on the System updates option. Once that is done you need to scroll down and click “check for updates”.
This can take a few minutes and after the search is complete you can install the latest update on your smart speakers. One more thing to keep in mind is that you need to toggle on the automatic update feature to avoid similar problems in the future.
- Sonos Support
If the issue is still not resolved then we recommend that you ask Sonos support to help you connect the smart speakers with Amazon Alexa. They will be able to guide you more efficiently through every step of the procedure.
