Alexa is one of the world’s most popular voice assistant AI through which users can easily control all of their house’s appliances using their voice.
All that the user has to do is to tell Alexa to do something for him, i.e., search for a specific song, check the weather, or turn an appliance on/off.
Convenience is not the only reason why so many owners go with this unit, and its reliable performance also contributes to the value.
For this reason, you should also test out this system for a better response from your smart system.
How to Fix Alexa Loop Mode Not Working?
It won’t take more than a week to get used to the Alexa unit and all the smart features that you’ll realize by going with this option.
So, be sure to keep that in mind and test out the Alexa system. You’ll be more than satisfied and won’t feel the need to change to a different smart assistant with this option.
Plenty of users have been complaining about facing a number of issues while using Alexa. According to these users, the Alexa loop mode is not working.
This can be sometimes hard to manage, and you will get annoyed after failing to engage in this mode a few times.
If you are also someone who is facing a similar issue but don’t have much idea on how you can fix the issue, then this article should be of great help to you.
Through this article, we will be giving you a number of ways how you can get the issue resolved. So, be sure to keep on reading!
- Check Alexa Skills
In case you are facing this issue, then the very first thing you can try is to check all of your Alexa skills.
It could be that there is another skill interfering with the working of the loop skill. This is why we recommend that you check each and every skill that you have on Alexa.
Similarly, we also recommend that you disable all the skills which you currently have no use of. This is to ensure that they don’t interfere with your loop skill.
- Check If Skill Is Enabled
Some of you may not know this, but Alexa has a skill through which it plays loop mode. Likewise, it is possible that the skill is currently disabled in your skills tab.
To confirm whether this is true, you will have to locate the loop skill in your skill tab.
Even if it is enabled, we recommend that you try disabling and enabling it again. This way, it should be able to start working again.
- Power Cycle The Unit
Next, you need to proceed with the power cycle routine. It might seem like a basic fix, but it will be more than enough to help you through this error.
Instead of using the power button to restart the system, you should remove the power connections, and that will be more than it.
From there, you can wait for around 30 seconds to five minutes before turning the unit back on.
Once the unit is fully on, you can try to access the smart features one more time. If everything goes well, you will have complete access to the system.
Hopefully, the issue with the loop features will be fixed right here, and you won’t have to go through any more errors down the road.
So, be sure to keep that in mind as you try to engage the smart features associated with this unit.
- Reset The System
Resetting the system will also come easy to you if you’ve not set up all the devices.
This is especially true if you’ve recently bought the unit and are just testing out some of the features. So, be sure to go through the reset routine.
On the other hand, if you’ve already set up the system and can’t seem to get any response from the system, you will have to set up the unit one more time.
The reset will wipe all of your configurations, and you will have to go through the setup routine one more time. There are no quick methods here.
So, be patient and spare some time on the weekend to adjust the system accordingly. If everything goes well, you won’t have to commit more than 20 minutes to adjust the system.
From there, you can test out the loop features one more time, and the unit will respond accordingly.
- Check The Application
It is not always the Alexa device, and your application can also be to blame here.
So, if you’re not too sure about the app and the device seems to be in good shape, then you need to take a look at the application version along with the mobile OS.
First, check for updates and change the application version to the latest if there are any available updates on the Play Store or the App Store.
From there, you can try logging into the Amazon account and then testing out the loop features.
Next, if you’re already on the updated app version, then the issue is more with the mobile OS. You can isolate these issues by going through a quick reset for the application.
This means removing all of the stored data and similar configurations from the application settings.
If that doesn’t fix the issue for you, then the only thing left to do on your end is to try out the app on a different mobile device.
Make sure that the OS is updated on the new mobile device, and if the app works on this new device, then you’ll be sure that the problem is with your current unit and not the app.
The only fix here is to update the OS on the current unit and then test out the Alexa features one more time.
You’ll be more than happy with this fix and will have complete access to the smart features in no time. So, be sure to keep that in mind as you try to adjust the system.
- There Might Be Issues With The Router Connection
If the issue is not fixed at this point, there is no harm in checking the router connection.
There might be issues with the Wi-Fi, creating more problems for the loop features. So, a quick method to fix these issues is to refresh the system by power cycling the router.
All that you will have to do here is to remove the power from the unit and then power it back up after a few seconds.
That will be more than enough to help you get through these errors with the smart system not responding to the loop features.
However, if you’re still struggling with the system, then a reset might be in order. However, after the reset, you will have to set up all of the smart units one more time from scratch.
It might take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to set up the system after the router is reset.
Now, that might sound a bit extensive, but you’re not left with many options here. So, be sure to go through with the reset routine when you’re struggling with these errors.
Hopefully, your issue will be fixed right here, and you won’t have to bother with more errors down the road.
It all comes down to how you’re planning on maneuvering through the situation. A quick reset will go a long way as you’re trying to address the majority of these errors. So, be sure to reset the system.
On the other hand, if you’re not exactly sure about the issue, then we suggest that you don’t waste more time on the unit.
Instead, reach out to the official support, and they will be more than happy to guide you through a fix that will work out for your specific system.

I can’t find a loop skill; not in my current skills, and not in a search of available skills. I’m sure the ambient sounds used to be loop enabled, though. I also remember setting up the loop skill a few years ago.
