I have an RTH9580 that would connect to WiFi but not the Internet on my Nighthawk router. I could connect to the Internet through my mobile phone’s connection, but I really needed to connect through my home’s WiFi. The solution, which I found nowhere in an extensive Internet search, turned out to be that I had to change from the Nighthawk’s router (c7000v2) default setting of a dynamic Internet address to a static Internet address. This made the dreaded “Internet Connection Lost” message go away for good.
I have two WiFi 8000 series stats which worked perfectly for years and then the WiFi got progressively more and more flakey until I could no longer “fix” with setting “900: to “0”. WiFi never appeared in the top of the display.
I was able to fix this by reseating the wifi board. This is under a cover on the rear of the stat.
