Reset Vivint Panel

Resetting the Vivint sky control panel is quite easy and will only take you 5 to 10 minutes at max. If your panel is not working properly then resetting the device will probably sort out the problem for you. Here is how you can reset your Vivint Sky Control Panel.

First of all, you have to disarm your security system. To do this simply go to the Vivint home screen and drag down the armed status icon. After that, you would be required to put in your passcode. Just put in the digits and your panel will be disarmed.

The next step is to remove the power from the panel. You can do that by simply unplugging the panel adapter from the outlet and the power supply will be cut off. Once the power is cut off you have to remove the panel from the wall mount. You’ll need the help of a screwdriver to remove the two screws on top of the Vivint panel. When the screws have been successfully removed from the panel just gently pull the panel off of the backplate.

There will be a hook you can attach to the panel to help avoid the panel from falling off. After the panel is hinged onto the hook you will be able to access the battery compartment. What you can do now is unplug the battery wire from the sky control panel. This will completely cut off the power flow within the panel.

Wait for around 30 seconds and plug in the battery wires again. Retract the hinge and mount your sky panel back onto the wall. Put the screws back in and plug the adapter into the power outlet. After you are done with this process you have to wait for around 10 to 15 minutes for the panel to turn back on.

Once it powers on you have to reconfigure all the devices again and customize the sky control panel to your settings. The reconfiguration process can be lengthy if you have a lot of Vivint devices to link with the sky control panel.
