Smart lights are power-efficient and can save you a bit of money in the long run. You can customize them to different colors. They light up when you enter the room and turn off when you leave. You can also schedule them from your mobile app.
Some people are however having issues with some of the lights not working in the house. This problem occurs mainly due to power issues. Here is a list of possible fixes you can follow to sort out this issue.
Some Lights Not Working In House Fix
- Check Dimmer Switches
Most often than not the real culprit behind a faulty light is a faulty dimmer switch. Just replace the dimmer switch with a regular flip-on/off switch and your problem will most likely be solved. Another indicator for a faulty dimmer switch is that you will notice the light flicker or make a buzzing sound. This way you can be sure that the root of the problem is a faulty dimmer switch.
- Change the Power Outlet
The issue can be with the power outlet itself, due to a faulty power outlet some lights might not be able to draw proper power to turn on. That is why you might be experiencing this issue. Just replace the power outlet of the light that is not working with the one that is working. If the light turns on then the main issue was with the outlet and you have to get it replaced or fixed.
- Check the Breakers
One of the most common reasons for this error is breaker tripping for some rooms which is why not all lights are turning on. Go to the main power panel of your house to check if any breakers have tripped. Make sure to turn the breakers back on and your lights should start working again.
- Contact Your Power Company
If you have made sure that all the breakers are on and there is no issue with the lights themselves. Then you should contact your power company to check if anything went wrong in your designated area. Usually, because of a fault in the transformer, you might lose power in half of your home. Chances are this is causing some of your lights to not receive power from the outlet. You would have to wait for a little time, while the power company fixes the transformer.
- LED Prongs Alignment
If you’re using LED strip lights in your home and notice some of them are not working then it is probably due to the faulty alignment of one of the prongs. Which is blocking the flow of power through the strip. Just make sure to align all the prongs perfectly and the whole strip should light up for you.
These were some methods you can use to sort out your issue. But if your issue is unique then your best bet would be to contact the customer support from where you bought the lights from. As it is equally likely that your lights are faulty which is why they are not working. A trained professional will guide you on how you can solve this problem.
