iRobot Braava Jet M6 is undoubtedly one of the best robot mops on the market, with a decent spray amount and an extensive list of smart features. However, one of the problems that discourage some customers from putting their money into this unit includes iRobot Braava Jet M6 undocking issues. Sometimes, the wheels are too slippery, or there is some residue on the docking station.
Either way, you will struggle with the automated routines when the robot is unable to get off the base. Luckily, there are still a few methods that can help you get through these issues with the iRobot Braava Jet M6, not Undocking.
Fixing iRobot Braava Jet M6 Undocking Problems:
- Clean Base With A Fresh Cloth
Start by gently cleaning the base with a fresh cloth and make sure that there is no residue left on the unit as well as the docking station. This residue will only create traction issues, and the unit won’t be able to get off of the docking station because of the slippery solution or water stored in the tank. Similarly, you need to ensure that the solution levels in the tank are not too much as they can leak out and reduce traction.
- Try Some Anti-Slip Spray
The most effective fix that helped a ton of users was to rely on Anti-Slip spray. You can rely on any reputable brand to help you address the traction issues. Simply covering the wheels with this spray will make sure that your unit has a decent grip on the docking station. From there, you won’t have to worry about the traction issues again, and the iRobot Braava jet will be able to undock pretty easily.
- Make Sure You’re Using The Recommended Solution
Sometimes, this issue will present itself when you’re not using the right type of cleaning solution. If you’re in the same boat and switched over to a cheaper alternative, then that is likely why the wheels are too slippery. The only thing you should do here is to switch back to the recommended solution or try some other reputable brand. There is no point in relying on cheaper options as they will interfere with the cleaning performance while also reducing the lifespan of your robot mop.
- Place A Thin Cardboard Piece Beneath Station
Simply elevating the docking station by a few millimeters can also help with the traction issues. You can either place a thin piece of cardboard or some pages beneath the station, and that would create a slight incline. This incline will make it easier for the robot to get off of the dock without running into docking station issues.
- Use Duct Tape
The traction can further be improved by the use of any materials like duct tape to cover the slipper section close to the robot wheels. So, you can dock the robot and then mark the region where the wheels rest. From there, just remove the robot and stick two pieces of duct tape in the marked regions. These regions will provide your robot with a better grip, and it will be able to undock pretty easily.
- Inspect Wheel For Clogged Hair
The clogged hair behind the wheels can also play a role here. You should be cleaning the robot every other day to enjoy optimal cleaning performance. However, if you’ve yet to service the robot, then it is a good time to do so. Make sure that there is no clogged hair and that the wheels are able to rotate freely. Furthermore, you should also charge up the robot fully before engaging in the cleaning cycle. That way, you won’t have to worry about any power-related issues as the unit tries to undock from the charging base.
- Get Help From Official Support
The official support members are pretty responsive and actively try to help customers through these minor issues. Ideally, you should be able to fix the problem yourself by using any one of these methods. However, if the robot is not responsible even after going through all of these fixes, then it is a smarter idea to seek help from professionals. They will be able to better guide you through the situation without taking any more of your time.
I got a roll of skateboard grip tape and put a 1” piece in the wheel slots. Fixed! Such a releif. I’ve scrubbed the wheels and the base and it just di$not seem to fix it. The grip tape did
My wife has this BRAAVA M6 and it stopped spraying during the cleaning operation. We watched a couple of YouTube videos to try and clear the problem and I believe I found the problem as soon as I got the body off the frame. There is an in-line white filter between the pump and the nozzle held in by two screws. There was a black stain in a V shape at the inlet from the pump. I called customer service and they do not sell a replacement for this filter. I find it hard to believe this is the only filter that has gone bad. has anyone else had to replace this filter and if so, where did you find it?
